Who we are
About Impermanent Gallery
Jules Rizzo is a dancer, choreographer, and dance instructor originally from Cleveland, Ohio. She currently dances with Whirlwind Dance in Columbus, and pursues various independent choreographic projects as well. She has previously trained with Dancing Wheels Company in Cleveland, as well as En Dance Studio in Shibuya, Japan. In this company, she hopes to create a space for emerging dancers and choreographers to develop their work through performance opportunities. As a choreographer herself, she recognizes the lack of space for professionals outside of dance companies and hopes to provide professional opportunities to creatives who are looking for an outlet for their ideas.
Alex Pruitt is the more business side of the endeavor. His job is most of the behind the scenes stuff, Jules is far better at the socials than he is. He helped to start the company after listening to Jules and a large number of other dancers complain about how their career map looked, hampered by constant needs to showcase their ability and the lack of opportunities to do so, especially ones that didn't cost anything to participate. So one night, after perhaps one to many glasses of wine, Jules and he started pitching ideas on how to solve the problem until our little gallery came to be. He hopes that you enjoy the shows that we put on, and we look forward to have you visit us and dance with us.
